Cutting leather

I, I’m Donn and I’m new to the laser engraving process. I currently hand cut leather products out of 6-7 oz leather and then I have to manually punch up to 24 holes in each piece for lacing. Do we know if this laser will cut the leather as well as the holes? It would make my life a whole lot easier!
Thanks,
Donn

Assuming that 6-7 ounce leather is about 1/8th inch thick, it shouldn’t be a problem both cutting and making holes for the threads.

I have read Dan say that you want to make sure you use vegetable tanned leather; cuts like a dream or something along those lines.

And that oil tanned is a complete mess, and chrome tanned is possibly toxic.

6-7 oz veg tan is easy. Other tanning processes, you’ll have to experiment with.
