1/4” Walnut with MDF Core

Does anyone know a good setting for cutting quarter inch walnut with an MDF core?

The only place we can discuss settings of non proofgrade materials is the Beyond the Manual section. I will move this post.

When using a new material, your best bet is to test a few settings to see which you like best. A good place to start for this material might be the proofgrade thick walnut plywood.

Thanks I will give it a try.

Try 130 speed full power

I did 120 at full and it didn’t cut through all the way.

Do a proper test.

Check out #6, it’s the only way to be sure.

Sounds to me like you’re gonna have to do two passes, 120 is too slow and will char your material to death. Better to go faster multiple times.
