So I’ve been wanting to complete a buck deer head outline for quite awhile, and finally got around to it this week. I started off by designing a hunting theme inside the outline, but quickly found out that this shape wasn’t the best for that type of design. With this being more vertical rather than a horizontal piece I found it difficult to have a hunter and deer far enough apart but still look good. My wife looked over my shoulder and said “nope, that doesn’t look good…why don’t you make it a camping theme”…so that’s what I work on . This is also my first piece that I’ve completed with 8 layers. I tried to design it with my usual 7 layers, but added the camping trailer as a last touch.
This piece is the largest I could make it on the Glowforge at 10.8" wide x 17.25" high. It’s made from 1/4" mahogany, walnut, cherry and maple plywood.
Enjoy,
Todd
