We were thinking of doing some silicone wrist bands for church. Makes me think I could do them from leather. Finally a use for my leather. I just never could decide.
If you “kiss-cut” them you could cut them out twice as fast. Just be sure to remove the overlapping lines.
You could also create a registration jig, so you could cut them all first. Then place them back in the jig to personalize them. I am not sure which would be better/safer doing the engrave before or after finishing.
Great idea for not cutting them all the way through, to finish them.
I’m not sure how dyes would cause any problem in the laser, but I’ve always applied leather dye or finish after I laser, so it’s not been an issue for me.
Do you burnish the edges? That feels like the most time-consuming part when I make bracelets, but I’m new to leatherworking and don’t know if it’s “acceptable” to leave them raw.
