I was wondering around Michael’s and found THIS
use your chopsaw to cut off 1" and it fits PERFECTLY in your glowforge
I have a few smaller ones I got from amazon. They engrave rather nicely. Just do a search for “live edge basswood blanks”.
Nice find.
Very nice! Is that just under 2" thick?
While not as thick (or homogeneous) as MacGeek’s find, I’ve occasionally headed over to the stair-building section (Home Depot, Menard’s) to snag a stair tread. In the cheapest form, pine wood measures 11” x 48” x 1” at $11-ish. An oak option is also available for around $25.
Saving money on wood was great, but it did trigger the purchase of a biscuit joiner to butt those planks together to make things like a beefy work table for the embroidery machine & roll-away cart for a wide-format printer.
Cool, like the live edge! What are you making with it?!
No idea YET, but I HADDA OWN IT!
