Now assuming you used proof grade, what did you find was the best way to engrave the image? Can you walk me through your process a bit?

Sure. First, I used the Glowforge acrylic. Others seemed not to be as good. I use two free programs…GIMP because it has the curve tool to really tweak your image after it has been transformed into grayscale. Then I save the image and re-pen it in Inkscape. You can resize your image in either program. Add your words and lettering through Inkscape because they have a better variety of fonts. Once everything is sized and set, you have to reverse the entire image and lettering together. There’s a lot of steps that I’m missing, but you should watch some of the tutorial videos on YouTube to really get it and take alot of notes for reference.

@famgroup13 I’m very fimiler with using Inkscape. I’ll have to look into gimp for the curve tool though. Last I tried to use it, it wasn’t very user friendly.
