Hi everybody! I tried to print something today, but I keep getting the Air Assist Fan error. It says it’s not running at the correct speed. I have removed the printhead, cleaned the contact points, everything else too, the small fan and the large fan on the carriage plate. Even the exhaust fan… And they were exceptionally clean already, since I haven’t been using my Glowforge in a while… Please help me
I’m sorry for your troubles. I’m betting some members here will have some suggestions, but in the meantime you should contact support @ +1-855-338-2122. We are all just other owners like you. Best of luck.
The “air assist fan” is the one on the plate that rides on the carriage, and the only one that is monitored. I had my first machine for several years and it never needed to be cleaned.
Some people have reported issues when using magnets to secure material - I never encountered that myself, but it was a fairly common issue. So if you are using magnets, you can reposition them, or revert to hold-down pins.
Yes, a call to support having made an attempt to cut the Gift Of Great Measure just before your call and noting the time, they can look at their data to see what the problem is.
