I did some Altoid style black tins last year for Christmas gifts. They worked great, just like this, but after the engrave, it still appeared to be almost entirely black…maybe a slight change in color where the laser hit. But upon wiping them down with just a piece of cloth, the engrave appeared perfect.
Apparently, the black coating just liquified during the engrave and wiped away clean.
Don’t let the term “scrapbooking” turn you away, people just bring whatever they want to work on. Quilting, sewing, scrapbooking, model building, bead work…
Personally I prefer 1) a weekend two or three night retreat with a minimum of a 6 foot table to work on, and 2) a retreat in a house vs a hotel. The cost is usually lower even though generally each person has to bring a meal for the group. And you will potentially be sharing a room with a stranger or two. I’ve been to large retreats with 50+ people but it’s harder to make friends, which is my goal, being new to North Carolina.
Thank you so much for the quick response and details…i love the visual of different kinds of crafters sitting around a table making their thing and being in community. And definitely, your redefine of scrapbooking was super helpful!!!
Happy crafting!!!
