Another wet glowforge after waiting

My new glowforge just arrived wet. The inside plastic bag was soaked with wet oil and the machine was coated too. Assuming not usable?

I’ve been wanting four months for this one after my year warranty ran out on my first one. My original glow never worked (Lazer head would skip around the print and error out). They would only send a refurbished, the one they sent didn’t close. I had to use painters tape to seal it or smoke would billow out. The lid completely snapped off just passed the year mark and they wouldn’t repair or replace so I was forced to buy this new one. In the 16 months I’ve owned one, I’ve only physically had a usable one a few months!

What a bummer! I would definitely contact support ASAP.

I’m sure they will get you taken care of very quickly. Most likely rough shippers broke something…or the coolant tube seal wasn’t tight enough when it was shipped. I’m sorry that happened to you.

That is not the problem. The exhaust is supposed to create negetive pressure inside the machine. If you see smoke coming out, the problem is the exhaust, not the many openings. Many have had their lid come loose and repaired that as well.
As noted above, the issue there is shippers not understanding what “fragile” means, or “this side up”. So yes an immediate call to the office is the best option.
