Background for Setting Design

Hi all! Don’t know why it has taken me so long to put a request here to see if anyone knows what to do.
Is there a way have a blank, non-dark, background when the machine is off in the design window? It always shows the last camera shot of whatever was in the bed, but sometimes I really just want to get in there and set something up on a black window and lay it out. When the bed is either black from the last time the camera had a shot of nothing there, or the previous project, it makes it really hard to just create something and lay it out in that state.

To get around this, IF WE REMEMBER, before turning the machine off we will put a blank piece of wood in as the last image the camera sees to help. However, I have always said to myself, I wish I could just have a white screen that is the size of the bed to just prepare a project on and do the final layout when I put something on the bed.

Thanks!

I made this a while back. It was broken by some recent changes to the Glowforge app, so I just updated it and it seems to work at the moment:

It’s a very quick and simple hack, so I can’t promise it will keep working, or really provide any support, but I hope maybe it helps you out. I’ve used it a few times as well when it’s hard to see what’s going on.
