I saved an AI file with both cut lines and bitmap that is to be 3D etched. However, after saving it as a PDF, and importing it into GF, the cut lines and text that was to be etched, showed well. However, the bitmap that should have been a picture of a couple of people was imported as a solid square. Not sure what is causing this… Help!

If you had a vector of a square set to engrave It would show up like that but if you set it to cut that should not happen. Alternatively in a bitmap if there is no place that is white then the whole thing would show up as to be engraved.

If you can share the file, any number of us could look at it and offer an opinion.
There’s nothing unusual in what you are trying to do.
