The leather from leftover kombucha SCOBYs had been mentioned a few times. Someone now has a process to make a rigid wood-like variant.
What can SCOBY do? Not too shaggy!

Now I’m wondering how it turns out if you lay it out and dry it as is, instead of using the agar. Probably not as good, but it’s something I might be able to convince my kombucha brewing friend to do
