Bumped error but nothing in the way

Hello. I am working on a project and got this “bumped” error for the first time. When centering/homing everything seems fine until the head gets all the way to the right side. I have checked multiple times and it doesn’t appear to actually be running into anything. I have delicately moved the arm/head myself and it moves perfectly. I have tried everything to fix this (turning it off, taking material out, unplugging, turning back on, reseting wifi, reseting modem) multiple times and nothing has worked.

Does anyone have any other advice? I was supposed to be making an important gift for something and I am running out of time. So frustrating.

Welcome to the forum.

Have you had the Glowforge for a long time and this is the first time it has done this? Did it complete a job right before this happened? Have you recently removed and replaced the carriage plate for maintenance? Have you recently removed the printhead?

When the machine is off, I’d move the laser head directly under the camera, then close the lid and turn the machine on. Sometimes i might accidentally move my laser head without realizing it and it messes up where the laser goes when it’s turned on. But by starting in the center, the machine fixes itself and puts it back where it needs to be to start.
