I am extremely new to Glowforge. My sister gave me her Glowforge plus. I ordered sublimation acrylic and the 1st print of a jumbo wine glass image (I got from the catalog) cut great; however, other cuts did not cut all the way through. Did more research and did 4-5 pastes but when that was done I notice burnt edges and a funky smell. Pleas Please Please help me!!! Thank you so much.

Which Glowforge do you have - Aura, Spark, Performance? What color and thickness of acrylic are you trying to cut? Have you completed any of the Glowforge tutorials?
EDIT: I see you have the Plus. You should never have to do multiple passes on acrylic with the plus.
Thank you for the welcome. I have the performance. The color is sublimation clear and for the thickness, I believe it’s 1/8. I do not know where I got it from (1st mistake). My sister did say, after the fact, I need to keep up where I get my materials from. Yes I was cutting. I didn’t complete any of the Glowforge tutorials as I was using my sister for that since you had it 1st and did GREAT work with it.
Cast acrylic is pretty standard stuff and should easily cut on your machine. It is important that the optics be clean because any smudge or debris will degrade the laser and cause inconsistent cuts. It is also important to know how settings work, and doing multiple passes is not something to randomly try. You can risk melting your material or a fire with too many passes.
I suggest using the Proofgrade setting for medium clear acrylic and doing a small test cut before undertaking a large design that may waste material if it cuts unsuccessfully.

One thing to know. Every fire I know the specifics about was started while engraving Acrylics. This is not a warning not to use acrylics but to stay with it and keep a sharp eye on it. In many cases they “just wandered away for a bit” and then heard the machine explode.
