Camera wont take pic

camera wont take pic stuck on scanning i cleaned everything multiple times replaced the camers white cable still nothing what else can i try

“Cleaning”, other than what is specifically directed by the GF support info is probably the number one cause of issues. It causes shorts, mis-aligned connections, all kinds of things. Other than making sure the lens on the lid camera is clean, I stay away from the cables and connectors.

The white cable is a very unusual thing to replace, it’s typically the black cable that goes from the back of the machine and is bent when the lid is closed, and runs from side to side along the lid.

As to what you can do? Make sure none of the very delicate connections between the cables and circuit boards have been disturbed.

If all the connections are solid (I was shocked to find one of mine was not even “closed” and I had never touched it) then support will need to look at the logs to see if there is any indication on why the camera is not working. It’s just a USB (or USB-like) device so that stuff is logged in the OS (Linux).

As we’re just users here, we can’t offer much more than the basics.

If any kind of liquid was used for “cleaning”, however, there is a chance it weeped in to a connector and shorted/damaged a circuit when subsequently powered on.
