It is. (That is, it is steel that magnets will stick to, it is not magnetic itself).
The GF honeycomb is magnetic ā I use small neo magnets to hold chipboard in place.
I havenāt had one fail, yet, but my honeycomb for a different brand laser isnāt magnetic. So I use the magnets for other things.
Right, thatās why I tried to say that mine isnāt, because I donāt have my GF yet, but a GF one should be. I currently run on a Universal Laser, an Epilog, and previously a Full Spectrum (that I sold to fund the GlowForge). All had non-magnetic honeycombs. Iām quite excited to try this.
You would still experience a flashback scorching on the bottom of the paper from the laser hitting the mesh. I mean, thatās kind of why I use the masking on both sides in the first place.
Our TechShop ended up making a bunch of various sized weights - one was even a 1/4" thick frame to go around a sheet of paper.
Just verified, put a 10mm neodymium magnet on, stuck well.
