Can't cut straight lines. Is this a loose belt or something else?

Problem: failure to cut straight lines horizontally.

Both the left and right side seem fine. Perhaps the belt under the head is loose, but it is hard to tell. Other than a loose belt I’m not sure what could be causing repeated waves during all horizontal motion.

Check the wheels on the print head - are any of them cracked?

There is a very good possibility you have a cracked wheel.

As others have guessed, that’s what happens when you have a cracked or broken wheel.

Thanks to all. It is indeed a broken wheel. Now I have to figure out how to fix it.

Contact support, posting here should have opened a ticket already, they are about $7.00 if your machine is out of warranty. I sell spare parts for Glowforge machines, so if you have issues or delays in ordering replacements, message me and I can probably help.

Hi @aguilera.martin. I’m sorry to see that one of the front carriage plate v-wheels broke in your Glowforge. I saw you had created an email support request for this same issue. I just sent a response on the email thread, and to avoid any confusion, I will go ahead and close this thread. I’ll look forward to your response to my email. Thank you!
