Hello. I just attempted to clean my Glowforge Basic for the first time. I noticed prior to the cleaning that my GF was cutting a little of centered, so I figured maybe it was time for a cleaning. Anyways, took the laser off - very carefully - and noticed the cartridge plate is crooked and it seems that the rollers are breaking off as well…
Any tips on how to fix this? Would this have caused the alignment issue, too?
There has been a bunch of those lately, and you can bet the company is working on it.
By posting here you opened a support ticket and the team will be in contact with you. Hang tough through the frustration.
This place is the best accessory for your laser, Welcome to the community! In the interim there is a massive amount of information and helpful people here.
Thanks so much for your response. I have read this has been happening a lot lately, unfortunately. Glad to hear it can be fixed though!
It’s a simple fix, embarrassing for the company but easily corrected. The hard part will be to not have your tool until it’s fixed.
I’ve had mine going on 3 years now and it has been flawless, just to dispell any fears of the viability of the glowforge.
I appreciate that. Yes, a little disappointing for the company, but I won’t hold it against them. And right! I’ll try to have some patience during this waiting period - Lol!
So glad to hear yours has been lasting! That seems very promising.
Your response is so nice to hear in the face of adversity with your Glowforge. I would hate having that happen, too…but I too will vouch for the company to make it right as soon as they are able. I’ve also had mine for nearly 3 years and it’s been nearly perfect. Your patience will be rewarded.
Thanks so much for the reassurance and your kind words. It’s all greatly appreciated, especially since all of this is so new to me.
I’ve only had mine for about a month, but I plan on having it for as long as it will hold up! Hopefully after this, I can be as lucky as you and have little - to no - other problems. I’m so happy to hear that your machine has been so good to you!
I’m sorry that you ran into trouble with your unit shortly after getting it set up and printing. I’m glad to see that you’ve already received some kind words of encouragement from our other community members. Thanks folks!
I want you to have a reliable unit, so I recommend that we get a replacement carriage plate out to you. I’ve sent you an email to sort out the details and I’m going to close this thread.
