Clearing background scan

Is there a way to clear the previously scanned background when working offline?

When working on a new design layout, it makes it somewhat hard to see when the image from previous run still shows in window. Looking for a way to clear this without having to power up Glowforge unit. Would be especially helpful if I am working on a design when away from home.

Just turn the glowforge on for a minute and it’ll refresh the background. I don’t know a better way without tearing into the developers terminal and removing the bg image from the dom.

Short answer, no, there isn’t.

However - just draw a box that fits in the limits of the cut or engrave area (use the color change to determine the limits), then drag that off to the side or top of the bed image and do all your layout there, with the solid gray background. Then just select-all and drag everything back onto the bed when you are ready to print (or your machine is at least turned on.)
