I have seen a few very nice ones here on the forums, but none totally made of leather only. So here is a gift I just finished for my dad. (Yes, he was a steer wrestler back before we got old!). The corners were punched out with a leather tool and hammer and then used some waxed leather thread looped through many times to hold them.
Very nice! Bet he’ll love it!
Simple and beautiful. Very well done. I like the thread holding the corners, nice touch.
Very nice! Great aesthetic.
It also gives me a better idea for how I want to fasten the corners on a felt tray I’ve been mulling over – contrasting waxed linen thread.
Great project.
Love these. I’ve done a few small ones using rivets. Looking at your sewing… I’m wondering what simple jump rings might look like…
Ferb! I know what we’re gonna do today! (Well, probably not 'til Sunday… But still…)
Nice work! Thanks for the inspiration.
Have fun! I have some eyelets and a tool to crimp them, but this leather was way too thick to use them. So i came up with the thread method.
Excellent! The corner connection is so well done.
Very nice gift! The corners are perfect!
