Coolant reservoir help

Hey good morning. I’m curious about the coolant reservoir. First question is how often do you fill it? Second question is what kind of coolant do I get like on Amazon? And last question his how do you fill it with taking anything apart? Thank you all.

Hmmm. It’s self-contained, so unless it’s spilled from shipping or low from the factory, it technically shouldn’t be touched. I’d just check to make sure it’s tightened all the way.

On the forum there was a discussion of what mixture of ingredients is appropriate for the coolant for those that had spillage in shipping and didn’t want to send the machine back to glowforge for that issue.

I had one machine 4 or 5 years and never had to touch the coolant reservoir. I sold that machine while moving, but my second machine I’ve had for 2 years now also hasn’t needed coolant, and it’s survived an overseas trip without spillage (the mover had it standing vertically in the truck to take it to port). So i think it’s pretty well sealed.

Also, as for filling it, I’m not sure if you can use a funnel, but there are tutorials on removing the glass on the left to access what’s under there. But if you’re under warranty, I’d avoid it.

I’ve had my machine for over 6 years and have never even had to deal with the coolant.

You shouldn’t have to fool with the coolant system at all.
