Craft Tip— Divided tray for small parts

I just wanted to share my little craft tip with my Glowforge peeps.

These organizer trays were made using the Box-O-Matic app. This app is incredibly EASY TO USE!! It took a total of 90 seconds to design the divided tray on the left.

Sometimes when I am crafting a project there are various parts. The divided tray keeps everything separate.

The velvet lined divided tray measures 8.25x8.25x.75. The individual trays are 4x4x.75.

I am not associated with Box-O-Matic—- I am just a fan. Designing all types of boxes has never been easier.

All my creations that were designed by B-O-M are 1/8 birch. In the app I change the kerf to .009

Nice! You might want to mention that Box-O-Matic is an iPad/iPhone app.

ROTFLMAO!! Totally forgot it was an Apple app.

I can’t use Box-O-Matic as I have Windows and not Apple products. I thought I could get it on my iPad, but apparently mine is too old and wouldn’t download the app. I did, however, discover a box program called “MakerCase” which seems pretty easy to use, as well as having Boxes.py. I’ll have to try it in those programs. Love the velvet lining!

I checked out MakerCase— I will also use that site. The velvet was purchased from Amazon and it is in sheets. So easy to apply. It has a sticky back.

I’ve looked at the app a couple of times, but haven’t “used” it yet. Definitely will give it a go.

Tried it today for the first time. Love it. How did you come to a kerf of .009, if I may ask?

Definitely worth it. There are a couple of in-app purchase opportunities, but not really necessary.

The first couple of times I made a box —-.006 was way too tight. I think humidity makes the wood swell and I just decided to try .009. Sometimes .009 is perfect and sometimes .008 is the right choice.
