Creating an army

I’m working on creating an army of pandas lol. Here are the first 6 so far in stand ups and keychains.

Cute. Are you drawing them, generating them, some of both ?

Kind of a mixture. I get a foundation from a commercial use generation to get a general idea. Then I build from there. It takes more time than it’s worth, these six took me many days of making them exactly how I wanted them. I have 24 total in mind that I been working on for the past two weeks here and there. I’m pretty new to incorporating newer style tools into the flow but trying to adapt to the new world of designing tools.

I really don’t have a game made for them (yet) but I figured some d n d players would use them as fill in characters too.

Those are cute. A few years ago, my son’s robotics team name was PHATT Pandas. I forgot what they used the acronym for, it wasn’t the usual, it was really funny.

Anyways, i had each kid draw their own panda to represent themselves, and it was hilarious.

I cleaned up each drawing in the computer, then glowforged hundreds of swaps for them to give out at competitions.

We had a “collect them all” kind of game to try and get other teams to interact together, but never got to implement it because while we were setting up, people kept taking the pandas.

I still have a couple of them i saved for myself because they were so fun. All the rest didn’t make it home, the other teams kids took them all.

Oh, i just remembered what phatt stood for- pretty hungry all the time. It’s cuz half our meetings were feeding them since they were always hungry.

Found them. My son drew the one on the left, his friend drew the big guy on the right.

My son was trying to copy a panda i drew for some earrings. He matched it pretty well. We’ve also got some exhausted coach pandas floating around somewhere that i drew.

I love how you’re able to get the different expressions on their faces with just small tweaks to the eyes and mouth! Happy, determined, apprehensive. . . these are great!
