Hello, I am just wondering if there is a current issue with “set Focus”. I have heard that a few others are having issues. I just need to know if it is an 'Update issue" or if i need to start replacing parts on my laser.
Every time I use the set focus option, I get a error message to refresh my browser and/or restart my machine. I have been doing that for two days now. I am also no longer getting the print preview message and adjustment as of yesterday. Thank you in advance
No system wide issue that I’m aware of. Set Focus bounces a laser between the two windows at the bottom of the head (one on either side of the actual laser window) - double check those are clean?
They are clean. I stopped getting the print preview adjustment message also. It has been suggested that i need a new laser head.
What are you focusing on? Have you tried multiple materials and still get the set focus error? When you input your material thickness manually, does the machine cut/score/engrave in focus?
This can be a sign that your head is starting to die. Join the Friendliest Glowforge Group on Facebook and there are techs who will help you drill down to exactly what’s wrong. Typically, it’s either a very, very dirty camera, a bad cable, a bad head, or a bad connection to the head (pogo pins don’t spring back or the metal connectors are dirty).
