I need to cut simple blocks from 1/2 " wood. How do I do that?

The Glowforge may not be the right tool for that task. What kind of wood?

1/2 inch is probably too thick for the GF to cut. I have troubles with 1/4.

Your best bet is a bandsaw. Like all tools it takes a bit to get your head around what the Glowforge excels at and when something else is better.

Table saw or bandsaw are my gotos for 1/2" wood.
