Dashboard working slowly

Hi all! I am having difficulty resizing/moving my uploads on the dashboard. It is working extremely slowly and won’t let me make some of them any smaller. I have my Glowforge off, does it need to be on while designing a project? Any feedback is appreciated. Thank you!

The Glowforge can be off, you only need a solid internet connection. I’d suggest clearing your browser cache or trying a different browser/device.

Oh no, I’m sorry you’ve hit a snag!

I’m afraid we’ll need more information to investigate further.

If possible, could you please send me a screenshot of what you see in the Glowforge app when this happens? Make sure to include the rulers in your screenshot and show as much of the bed as possible

To take a screenshot:

Mac: Press Shift-Command-4 and click and drag a box around your image. You’ll find the screenshot file saved on your desktop.
Windows: Click on the Start Menu and type “snipping tool”. Open the Snipping Tool > New then click and drag a box around your image. Click the Save icon and name and save your file.

Send us the screenshot, and we’ll be happy to take a look.

Here is a screenshot. I am using Chrome as my browser. I am currently trying to get everything to the size I want and then they will all be placed into an area that is 8 1/2 x 8 1/2 inches. Thanks for your help.

Thank you so much for sending us that screenshot. It appears your App may be operating slower than normal due to the number of elements on the screen.

As an alternative, I would recommend preparing your file in a program like Inkscape or Illustrator, and save the file as one SVG. You can them import the items as one file, formatted to your specific needs.

Pease let us know if you have any additional questions or concerns!

It’s been a little while since I’ve seen any replies on this thread so I’m going to close it. If you still need help with this please either start a new thread or email support@glowforge.com.
