Deep variable engrave in white oak and dragons

I had a piece of what I think is white oak, very tight grain for oak, but wondered with the new higher speeds enabling higher res I made this at 1355 LPI and two passes. It went most of the way through and much better detail than I have had before, the engrave path was horizontal and left no evidence but the vertical grain set the limits on the detail,

I have never tried anything close to 1355 lpi. That is an impressive result.

Wow. That is impressive.

Mostly you need the high speed or lower power. To keep full power the speed needs to be a lot more than 1000.

Cool dragons! I’ve never had the guts to try such a high lpi on wood. Thanks for pushing back the frontiers of wood lasering!

Neat! Love the dragons. Isn’t it also the quality of the grayscale? If the grayscale art is incredibly detailed a very high LPI it should make it even better. I suppose, high LPI should also compensate for art that is not so great.

Or show just how bad it was, In this case the grain hides the level of detail but with eyes that hide more than that they look really good in real life.
