Hi!
I’m getting “design failed to load”
I’m a very light user on a Glowforge Basic, (no premium membership). last time I used my machine was months ago, without any issue,
machine shows as ready. it centers and scans fine.
I can’t load any design, even a gift of good measure or any design I’ve successfully loaded in the past.
I can create a new design> create a blank design, and I see my material. but I can’t upload anything.
I can try trace a design but when it comes to “place artwork” it says unexpected error occured.
I cleaned lens, camera and logo with zeiss wipe. I rebooted several times.
I tried on 2 PCs and through my phone
I’ve reset the network.
I’ve reached out to support, but are there things I can try in the meantime?
Thanks!
welp it works now, I think I’ll leave this up for future reference.
I think both PCs were running a browser extension Consent-o-matic (for removing cookies consent) that might cause issue. disabling the extension solved it.
Or maybe it just resolved itself after a few hours of my fiddling.
Or maybe it’s because the 3D printer was running in the same room at the time, and, you know, it was a bit jealous.
Don’t know for sure but it’s working now!

Glad it worked itself out for whatever reason. Happy Forging!

Basic Internet infrastructure has been erratic for a couple of weeks with an AWS outage and now a Microsoft outage. Both are very large hosting companies for companies like GF who do not run their own servers (or potentially your ISP as well). I don’t recall which GF uses for their servers but they’re undoubtedly affected. The route to their servers may also be impacted depending on your ISP (Microsoft is reporting DNS issues - the “how do I get there?” service that tells your browser how to find things).
