So, I have 1/8 acrylic and enough to make this – will this be way too loose or can I shore up the pieces and glue to hold?

I would suggest 1/4" acrylic. but definitely glue it.

Made this with 1/4" acrylic and love it! Plan on making another one, as it is perfect for all the tools and gadgets I use daily. Thanks so much again for the file!
