I would add that the Baltic Birch most likely looks nicer for finished projects. Everything I have produce on a laser (Epilog, not ) was done with Baltic Birch from a local hardware store. The non-big box stores a likely to have higher quality available.
I’m sure the consistency is much much worse than the draftboard though.
Depends on how you’re going to finish it. I use a lot of Baltic Birch (real stuff not birch ply from the big boxes). But it is plywood so the edges are layered. Draftboard is good for ultrasmooth paint. BB is good for staining. PG ply is great because the masking & finishing steps are all done for you. Ends up cheaper than my time is worth.
