Sorry Steph, missed this one…it has a spring loaded arm that keeps the pen pressed against the egg.

That thing looks really fun–if you’re a programmer. I wonder how powerful the laser is. It looked pretty darned slow and it only engraves, with no cutting. However, the idea of having a free-motion, no-box arm, with huge z-axis, is awesome. Glowforge 2.0!

To finally steer myself on topic, the Dobot looks amazing- though honestly I feel it’s use as a 3D Printer or laser engraver are its least cool features. All the programmable functionality of a robot arm at that price point, though? That’s what’s awesome to me!
