Double lines (using GF)

Hello. I created a 8.5x11 square within Glowforge however it created a double line on the left side. To rule out there was an issue with the square I made it smaller and it printed correctly. any reason it would create an additional line? I was within the parameters of the board and the bed. I was using a 12x12 brand new board (not proofgrade). Any insight would be helpful.

How was the square created?

You’ve provided no information about how it was created. For example, if the app you are using creates paths from strokes, then every object will have two paths, resulting in two cuts. It’s a simple thing to do when you don’t understand the difference. What you see on the screen does not always translate to what’s sent to the machine.

I created it within Glowforge. I didn’t use an outside source. By that, I mean I opened glowforge, selected “Create a new design” and created a square. The same square cut fine when I made it smaller. when it was sized 8.5x11 is when there was the extra line. See screenshot.

I can’t guess what happened because making a square within the interface would not create any extra lines. Also, changing the size of a square would not change the design in any way except size. If it happens again, share a screenshot after the cut that includes the material and settings. Since this material requires two passes for a Proofgrade cut, it is possible one of the passes was not cut where it belonged.

That’s the usual Aura problem where it sticks.
