My Pro has been acting up for a couple of days getting stuck on focusing but I’ve been able resolve it by simply turning it off and back on and rebooting the browser. Everything was fine - until yesterday. Got stuck on focusing again and nothing would change its mind so I just shut it all down and quit for the day. Fired it up this morning and immediately the dreaded orange button slapped me in the face. (Well, good morning to you, too!) I read several posts about the orange button and most pointed to temperature as the problem but I really don’t think (emphasis on “think”) that’s it since the recorded temperature here in Amarillo has been between 61 and 79 degrees F the last seven days. Suggestions?
This is such a bummer!
There might be something else going on and it’s likely that support will need to be involved
I don’t know if this post is helpful or not but talks about the orange light in an instance when it was not temperature. Orange Light and need help quickly please - #16 by info.cerberusden
Thanks, trually. I just submitted a support ticked. Let’s hope for the best.
All’s well that ends well, as they say. After Missy at Support replied to my ticket and made a suggestion, it led me to discover the white ribbon connector on the print head was crooked. Who knows how in the “H” that happened but who cares, it’s fixed now. At least it’s another solution added to the problem.
If you’ve ever removed the carriage plate, I can see how that is possible. The only circumstance when that is necessary is if the air assist fan is in need of thorough cleaning. In many years of ownership on my first machine, mine never was.
Hey #eflyguy, I was under the impression the air assist fan attached to the carriage plate needed frequent cleaning. I have it on a monthly schedule and do NOT look forward to it. Are you telling me I can delete that from my to-do list? (Please say yes!)
I can only say I never cleaned mine in several years of use. I have, however, seen some that needed it.
Nice! Now you’re up and running again!
