To my Precious Glowforge Peeps— you know who you are. I share this absolutely devastating announcement with everyone.
Andrew was a true friend and I loved him dearly. Unfortunately, I knew someday I would be the one to share the news of his passing.
To my Precious Glowforge Peeps— you know who you are. I share this absolutely devastating announcement with everyone.
Andrew was a true friend and I loved him dearly. Unfortunately, I knew someday I would be the one to share the news of his passing.
I’m very saddened to hear of his passing. He was a very knowledgeable member of the community. I hope he’s found peace and he will be missed.
We met up once for lunch. While his online persona could be a bit prickly, face to face he was smart and interesting without the edge he projected here.
Sorry to hear about this.
Thanks for sharing but this is another kick in the gut as he was the only current member that I had met IRL and the second member to pass recently that I considered a pretty good friend. I know you and I won’t be the only ones to miss him.
What sad news- thanks for letting us know.
I am so sad to hear this. He was a wonderful contributor to this forum, even if a bit prickly at times. He was so proud of his daughter. He will definitely be missed. ![]()

Thank you for letting us know this sad news.
I know @eflyguy rubbed some the wrong way, but I always looked up to him. He was straight to the point and helpful. I will miss him.
Sorry to hear this. He has helped a lot of people here.
Thanks for letting us know. So sad.
I’m so sorry to learn of his passing. I think he was an asset to the forum and we will miss him.
Very sad to hear this. He was a big presence on the forum and I will miss his words.
RIP Eflyguy

First and foremost Christy @cmadok Andrew absolutely loved the gift you sent from Japan!! You knew about his struggles.
Dave @evansd2 I vividly remember when he told me about the hours long lunch. I believe I was speechless for about 90 seconds. I jokingly asked Andrew “Do you think Dave is ready to join you at the gun range? I can still hear the immediate hearty laugh that came from Andrew when I asked the question. He truly did enjoy the lunch and friendship!!
I am trying to find the words to express how gutted and empty I feel.
I want to be happy and cheerful because the universe gave me a precious gift when Andrew became my friend.
So I sit here crying while I converse with Jimmy Wayne Westie and Black Betty because Eric is at work and I am not at my office.today running my business. I have a staff of four —— they can figure it out.
I tried everything possible, but my friendship could not save Andrew’s broken heart.
Since 2020, our friendship was 80% laughing so hard we would get a stomach ache
This morning, when I told my precious Eric the news he looked at me and said the words “Oh, Dear God!” Andrew was also friends with my husband.
Remember him, when you give your dog a great big hug. Andrew adored and deeply loved his past dogs and current dog Dixie.
Remember him if you have the opportunity to drive The Dragon.
Remember him if you see a sport bike, a fast exotic sports car or some type of grilling and smoking food apparatus.
Remember him if you look up in the sky and see an airplane. He never became a pilot, but he loved aviation,
I will remember because he truly did love me and all of my quirky personality traits. He also recognized and remembered every single important date in my life.
In closing, for the ladies in this forum — I still internally melt when I would listen to his beautiful British accent.
Andrew was a best friend every woman needed.
I am sorry for your pain. I am glad he had you in his life to make him laugh and to share stories about loved animal companions.
Thank you for letting us know, I’m so sorry to hear this news.
It’s not appropriate to post here making rude comments about his daughter. Please remove that part of this post. She deserves respect as well as he does. Please let her cope however necessary for her.
