Engrave shifting during print

This is the second time that this has happened to a print of mine in the past month (once a couple weeks ago) and then again tonight. I have no idea why it’s happening. I’ve probably had dozens of successful engrave/cuts in between these two occurrences… so I’m not sure what the deal is.
Below is a picture of the print I did tonight and a screenshot from the camera.

If it is happening off and on then it is a small piece of debris on toothed belt. If it happens every time then it the geared wheel. Check with a flashlight and use a vacuum or a can of air to clean the area.

The one time this happened to me, it was because the bottom of the carriage plate (the thing the print head sits on) was bumping into a holddown pin sticking up too high above my material. It rides under 1/2" above the crumb tray, not much clearance.
