Engraving Wolf

Im am trying to engrave a photo of a wolf onto a piece of wood.
I do have affinty designer software. Is that good to use?

It depends…

If it is vector, then Affinity Designer. It is a bitmap than Affinity Photo.

Is your image vector or bitmap? What are you engraving on?

For vectors I usually export as SVG. For bitmaps I use PNG or JPEG.

Really the only thing Glowforge-specific to using AD is the setup (20x12" workspace at 96 DPI) and the export settings. Other than that, just watch the tutorial videos the company has created – that’s how I learned it. :slight_smile:

Oh, also, don’t use clip paths – the Glowforge won’t recognize them. And for multiple reasons, I prefer PDF as the export type. With PDF you don’t need to worry about converting your text to paths, and you also won’t run into problems with sizing discrepancies if you pass the file on to others.
