I used a 200/full and the result was not a clean silver engraving. I think it was too deep. Does anyone have suggestions on engraving a black knife?
The knife is a CPM D2 ( CPM D2 steel is a variant of D2 steel produced following the advanced crucible CPM technology. To get CPM D2, the regular D2 is powdered and re-smelted. The end product is steel with small-sized and evenly distributed carbides which has better edge retention and wear resistance.
You will need to test settings to achieve the results you desire. If you think an engrave is too deep, you can increase speed or reduce power.
