Interesting! I have found them practical in making is so something laid on top (even for a moment) does not push any buttons. How do you manage to have the button covered and still useful?

I made a few versions when I got my first GF, but this is the one that’s lasted.
Yes, the rings are movable, so it’s a functional slide rule.

I took a caliper and measured the circumference of the button (31mm) and laser cut the internal piece to sit center - AND HAL needs a poke in the eye, to remind him, who’s boss!
