Filling in knotholes with resin

I make handbound journals with cherry wood covers and backs. I engrave on them with the GF. I would like to fill knot holes with resin and put in sand glass for a little pizzazz. I find the UV resin soaks into the wood and that looks bad!!

Any ideas?

Seal the knot holes first?
Also - avoid lasering the resin.

Staff is not going to be able to help with non-PG materials so I’ve moved your post to BtM.

Is you question specifically how to get the resin to not soak into your wood? If you mask everything that’s not the area and spray it with a sealant before you pour in the resin that should keep it contained…
