First inlay from a laser engrave

I accidentally set my power setting to full instead of 10%. The resulting engrave was way deeper than I intended, so I filled it with JB weld and wet sanded it smooth. I’m quite pleased with the results and I’ll definitely be doing more like this.

Yes, it is quite hard and sands beautifully. This is the original JB weld with the 1hr setup time. I let it cure overnight to be sure.

That looks like a magula!

Yep, those things are awesome! Now mine will have less incentive to wander off.

Wow! Interesting! Is the resin at all flexible? Any concern the resin will lift or peel off?

Happy accident

I don’t think so, JB weld is pretty tenacious. The aspect ratio of the nominal channel is probably over 2, so pretty deep. The cut depth is what gave me the idea in the first place.
