First Print - My logo on Barn Wood

New to the Glowforge world. Just got my Pro recently and this is my very first print. I wanted to see how it would work on the back of some barnwood.

I think it did great and goes along well with the overall look of the piece.

That your first print is on thick material and centered so beautifully - you’re gonna like it here

The shading on the water tower came out so beautifully!

Your logo looks great against the prominent wood grain. Manley looking.

Oh yes, came out great! It kinda looks like a brand or wood burning.

This is exactly the look I was going for. Been wanting to get a brand, but honestly dont want to deal with the hassle of it…

Have a bit of feedback (it looks great, by the way!)

When you’re not masking the material, think about the direction of the soot/smoke as it’s being engraved. You can use that to your advantage. So it would (in my opinion) look better/more natural if the smoke was “up”, and not “down” as in your print.

I’ve used this effect to my advantage many times…

Great point. Thanks for that idea!

I like the look of that full logo, but need something that is quicker.

Thoughts on this version?

I think that’s lovely especially for letterhead/paper, but if you want a quicker one that still reads “brand” I’d go with everything but the mountains and the water tower - plus that would be recognizable from a distance, or when shrunk small.
