I decided to use gouache instead of stain (since I already had some.) Roughed the edges up a bit with sandpaper after painting to give the whole thing a more rustic look. Now i just have to figur out how to enclose/frame the thing.

I love that gray… gives that distant hazy Smokey mountains vibe…

The person I’m making this for lives in the Blue Ridge Mountains. They actually have a blue/grey hazy appearance when viewed under certain conditions.
