Flare ups & not cutting all the way through!

Help! I just cleaned my glowforge yesterday & now it’s flaring up soooo much & not cutting through 1/4in plywood! Plus it’s over heating due to the flare ups!
I double checked the lens, the belt, the mirror etc…
Someone help me please I have 2 craft fairs I paid for & I’ve wasted soooo much wood & I’m running out of time!

What exactly is the wood you’re trying to cut? Is it Proofgrade or something you bought elsewhere? What settings are you using to try to cut it?

There’s more 1/4" plywood on the market that isn’t suitable or possible to cut with a laser than plywood that laser cuts well. Almost everything in home improvement stores is not good laser material, for example. Sourcing the right materials and learning how to dial in settings to cut them is a process that many owners grapple with for years.
