Had a former customer recommend me to a friend for a set of flasks, after some back and forth he decided on a set of runes from the new Zelda Tears of the Kingdom game and a Batman joker hybrid.
Acetone is your friend when cleaning these badboys.

I’ve never tried acetone but I also had great success with denatured alcohol. Wiping them with a good solvent really does get nice results.

Yeah I got the acetone when I was working with the dog tags. It’s recommended for anything anodized though.

These look like painted steel, right? I don’t think they’re anodized?
Nope they are anodized, it’s using a matt finish though, I asked the flask manufacturer the same question.
Hmm. If you run your fingernail over the edge can you feel a transition? If you can it’s not anodized.
Also a magnet test might reveal it. If the magnet sticks it’s definite not anodized. If it doesn’t stick it’s maybe anodized.
