Flat design on a curved (kind of) surface

I do a lot of “I wonder what would happen if…” thinking. Sometimes I act on it. Here is a niddy-noddy I decorated today.

NEXT TIME I will line everything up better, I promise!

Very interesting result. I never heard “niddy-noddy” until just now, and I love how it sounds.

Your projects are so educational! (I’d never heard of one either, but I’ll bet that winds up in my vocabulary going forward!) :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes:

I’m guessing I’ll forget the real words, and at some point I will be saying knitty naughty

I don’t think it’s a scrabble word, though.

That would just about use up all the "D"s. Tough to pull off.

Interesting. Now what does a niddy-doddy do?

Looks wonderful
And I am continually looking for a thingamajig

A niddy-noddy lets you get yarn off your bobbin after spinning. It makes a skein, usually 2yds in diameter. You can count how many rounds you’ve made and figure out how many yards in the skein.

You can see it in action in the last photo.

I was wondering if it was a real word or something like that jig for thingamas.

Very cool!
