My glowforge has been focusing for a while now. I want to beleive that its because it’s extremely cold in my work room. I have turned it off and turned it back on, still on focusing. Is the extreme temperature a possibility? Please help
Since you don’t mention what model you own, here’s a link to the operating temperatures for the various models
I experienced mine getting stuck on “scanning” recently, for the first time since the company started selling them (this is my second machine)… Although everything that depends on wifi in my home was working fine (except the GF), I went ahead and reset my router, and then a few minutes later turned the machine back on - and it’s been fine since.
I’ve worked in tech since the 80’s, and for a wifi router manufacturer at one point, and I can not explain it. It just happened, and now it’s fixed. So I suggest - give it a shot. Turn off the machine. Turn off the router. Let it sit for a minute and start that up first, then turn on the machine when the wifi signal is re-established.
Thank you. I turned on a space heater in the room a little while ago and the glowforge plus is now ready to go. So my guess was correct, the cold weather was the issue.
Very glad to hear it was a simple as that and nothing more dire. Happy holidays!
