Posting it in everythign else since it’s not my design, but it’s on the Make: website.
That’s clever. Love it.
Neat
Oh, fun! Thanks for the link.
I’m thinking this would be a big hit with my grandchildren! Thank you!
Yup, another Toy Inventor’s Notebook mini project— powered by Glowforge!
(Thanks again to Dan and crew at GF for making such a fun, easy, and powerful tool!)
I always try to highlight a feature of the GF in each project: this time the “ignore” command. To make the engraved ridges on the back of the part, after the first cut/engrave step, carefully remove and flip the part, then replace it face-down in position for a second engrave (ignoring the cut features). This technique might be useful in your other projects…?
As I mention in the article, the “final” design is really just the beginning. It needs to be optimized even more for better performance: more bubbles? Longer flights?
Look on newsstands now for the latest issue of Make magazine with a new TIN project, again Glowforge powered! Flat Flicker table top action games.
