Gaps between layers

Love making with my glowforge. We started experimenting with plaques yesterday. Have any of you figured out how to mitigate or hide the gaps between wood layers?

I would probably use CA glue and laminate the layers to close the gaps. I have also used brown or black Sharpies on edges. Also, the cuts have a bevel to them due to the shape of the beam, so sanding them square after gluing and then coloring them dark would probably give the best result.
Nice looking project. :sunglasses:

You could cover the edges with something flexible, like veneer or ribbon.

Thanks. I actually ended up coloring in with sharpie and it looks pretty good.

I was gonna say, they make all kinds of fancy markers for touching up wood furniture and floors. The right Sharpie sounds like a great alternative.
