I’m used to working in the interface, setting up my cut details, adding shapes and text as I please, and having it all saved automatically for the next time I pull it up. Last night, I uploaded the file I made, and in the interface, I rearranged the actions and assigned a score and cuts. Then I made a copy of my work, deleted the details, and made backers for each of these tic-tac-toe games.
Last night, it was freezing and while the room temperature was probably still within operating ranges, the GF itself was cold from being by the window and having high winds blow through my exhaust. So I didn’t want to turn on the machine until it was warmer in the daylight. So I did not print the file I made.
I’m here now, because when I opened up my browser, it automatically opened the interface because it was the last thing I was doing. Except, all my changes were gone, even the order I arranged was reset. It looks like this now (exactly how the file uploaded):
It wasn’t a large amount of work, but since I never printed it, my changes were not stored in past prints. I just wanted to know if anyone else has experienced something similar? I mean, I could always export the file in the future before shutting down my computer, but I probably won’t. This was a simple file, but if I did something more complex in the future and lost it, I might be a bit sad.
Always hit save unless you want to keep the original. If you can stand the mess make a copy and modify that and rename and save, going back to remove the junk when you are up to it.
If you make changes and then go back to the dashboard, or leave it on that screen, it usually saves it.
Maybe there was a connection issue and the connection was buggy?
Maybe, though if it was a connection issue, I don’t think it was on my side. Usually if I’m having an issue with internet of connectivity, the entire interface freezes up or doesn’t load. It would definitely not allow me to make so many changes to my file. It was all ready to go before I got tired and shut it down.
So I printed what I needed and went on with my life. Today I decided to open it up again just to see. In the thumbnail preview, I can see the design as I had last left it. But when I opened it, it’s back to the form and cut order as when I originally imported my file. The only difference now is that since I cut it, I now have items under past prints where I can pull up what I did.
