Hello, I recently went to use my glowfogre Aura and it has started making this loud screeching noise coming from the left side when the arm slides up and down. I wasn’t able to find any answers on this issue so I am looking for some help.
I’ve added a video here on Youtube, it makes the noise right at the beginning of the video and again at 0:31 seconds.
It sounds like there may be buildup on the rails or bushings that are impacting the laser head movements. I would start with the specific sections for the rail cleanings mentioned in this page: Cleaning Your Glowforge Craft Series
I would also focus on checking the bushings also mentioned in the page, and reference image below:
Yes, I’ve followed the cleaning instructions. that didn’t seem to work. I’ve only made a handful of cuts on it, its not that old.
I would follow up with our Support team if you have done not done so already. They can help with a deeper dive and troubleshooting since the cleaning attempts have failed. I would start taking picture of the rails, bushings, and photos of affected print results. That can save a lot of back and forth to find a resolution.
